Snow

Baosbheinn yesterday. The school was closed for the first time this winter, the buses unable to get to outlying areas for the pupils.
The school this afternoon,

& the view towards the village.

Sunday

The Gairloch Hotel looking bleak & empty.
Looking down on An Dun, site of an ancient vitrified fort.

The Isle of harris visible between Longa island & the SYHA headland. Clisham, the highest hill on harris, is to the left.

The snow's back

After rain yesterday (Saturday), most of our snow had gone. However, this is what we woke up to Sunday morning.
Mid afternoon we walked to the harbour & back. The beach was deserted.

Snow storm heading south, down the Trotternish penninsular on Skye.

Out & about

Ice on the surface of the water at the harbour.
The old cemetery,

Buzzard who's been having a tough time, being harried by a pair of hooded crows. There was a fieldfare eating berries when I got home.

Down at the harbour

Looking across to Charleston

Still pretty cold

On the beach this afternoon,
looking across to Longa island,

& up the Gairloch penninsula.

Colder & colder

Even the seawater is succumbing to the cold
Outwith the jetty area it's too choppy to freeze.

From the topp of the sledding hill,

the sun's just disappeared behind the Storr.
