Loch Ness Marathon

Today Andy went to Inverness with fellow runner Martin to do the Loch Ness Marathon, it was a early 5am start to get to the sports stadium in time for the transport to the start. 30 plus buses carried the runner to the end of Loch Ness along some very narrow country roads, the locals mush have wondered what was going on!

Lovely day, still and sunny but a cold start, a fairly undulating course with a long hill between 17 & 19 Miles. The last 4 miles are along both sides of the river Ness. Andy did a time of 3.45 (nearly did 3.30 but slowed in the last 4 miles to a run & walk), Martin did 4.38.

Post race food thanks to the sponsor's Baxter's of soup fame.
Pics of a tired Martin and the sunny finish area.
