Away

We'll be away for a while, so no more pics just now. Hopefully, there'll be plenty when we're back.
A happy & healthy Xmas to all our blog followers.

Walking home, enjoying the sunset

The school/leisure centre car park.

It's 19th December & the sun is setting a long way south of where it was a few weeks ago. Should be on it's way back soon.

On the way home

The beach track we took on our way out, earlier today.
Cemetary in the foreground, golf club centre & the hills beyond.

The threatened "superloo" between the cemetary & the golf course. Cutbacks!

Beach & beyond.

The cruelty of winter

We saw a group of crows attacking some seagulls & then saw the damage they'd done. Within seconds, they'd started to disembowel the unfortunate youngster. Survival of the fittest.

Out & about on Saturday

Andy did a couple of hours on the climbing wall this morning, then we set out to do some shopping-which took several hours due to meeting so many people & chatting.
It transpired that friend had lost her mobile yesterday whilst we were out with the dogs. We reckoned it was probably when we were making "snow angels", so Andy & I retraced yesterdays walk to the approximate spot which was by now, a couple of inches deeper than yesterday. Worth a try, we dialled her number & lo & behold heard it ringing about 2 feet away! Dug down & retrieved it, a trifle damp but still working after more than 24 hours at -3c (& probably a lot less last night).
The Two Lochs radio station where Andy does an occasional Sunday Brunch spot. He was on again last Sunday morning.

Cold & white

Looking bleak after 24 hours of blizzards, although it's so gusty, not too much is sticking. The school's closed again (transport won't go out to pick up the pupils) & tonight's dance has been postponed. Drove to Laide & back twice yesterday & most impressed with the Jimny. Nothing's an obstacle to it.
Isla wants to go out to play.

Chilli's got cold feet.

Enjoying a glass of mulled wine in a friend's toasty, warm house, after making "snow angels" on the football field. Dogs anticipating a piece of mince pie.

Sunday sunrise

Two of the perks of having to go to work on a Sunday morning, are the empty roads & wonderful views. The sun rising over loch Maree
The Torridons.

More of the white stuff

The Janny clearing snow outside the school.
Brrr

These were from yesterday, today the thaw has set in.
