At last, the wind has abated & winter has arrived. Seems quiet without the wind howling all around & we've escaped with less damage than some. Lots of dislodged roof tiles around but all we suffered was the fence screening becoming dislodged & having to be out in the worst of it to re-attach it to the fence.
A walk up Flowerdale today with Geraldine & Karen, plus Chilli & Sasha as well as the infamous Jamilla, of course. A severe hail storm at one point stopped us in our tracks but otherwise, a lovely walk, superb autumn colours & fast flowing burns (streams) made it a memorable one.
Later, Andy helped "Downie does it" to secure a roof problem at the "Millie" & the darkest night of the year (for us) so far, isn't such a bad one after all.
We find out that Michelle has survived the horrors of the OMM in Cumbria & peace descends upon our rural idyll.
