Another lovely day, so we took off to walk the path from the "Red Stable" to Loch na h-Oidche. Snow has fallen for the last few nights so we stayed with the main path and it was slow going in places, where sheet ice made the going difficult. Thank goodness for walking poles. Views stunning in every direction, at times reminiscent of Wainright's line drawings- every crag & crevice picked out by the snow & ice. As we got higher, the snow got deeper, in fact it fell heavily, several times as we walked, wiping out our footprints. Proper snow! too dry to compact into snowballs, so no fighting or tormenting Jamilla!
Distant views of Slioch, Beinn Lair, and near-by Baosbheinne. Unfortunately, due to the conditions & short daylight hours at this time, we decided to turn back about a mile short of our goal in order to get down before it was too dark. Even so, the van was pretty iced up & required scraping. Well worth it though, & hungry for more.
